Pearland Chamber encourages business owners to utilize SWAT
An Ad Hoc team in Pearland is working to help area businesses communicate more effectively.
The Strategic Workforce Advocacy Team was created by members of the Pearland Chamber of Commerce, city officials and the Pearland Economic Development Corporation. Using SWAT, chamber officials plan to discuss issues impeding expansion projects in the Pearland community.
SWAT focuses on eliminating inconsistencies, interpretations and timing on projects that costs area businesses, according to a chamber release. The group listens to issues affecting local businesses and works to create better procedures in business communication.
Members include Pearland officials, Pearland Economic Development Corporation and three chamber businesses. The proactive group finds alternative ways to approach issues and is a collaborative effort from all sectors in the Pearland community to encourage business growth and development. SWAT meets quarterly and immediately if necessary to move on a crisis situation.
