Alvin ISD rolls out new website
Alvin Independent School District recently redesigned its website with the goal of improving communication between teachers, students, parents and staff.
“We are excited about the fresh new look and ease of use of the new site," Daniel Combs, director of communications, said in a press release. "It is our hope that it will appeal to all of our users, and provide an additional opportunity for our parents to interact with Alvin ISD educators.”
The new site was designed to make user navigation between district and campus pages easier. Some enhancements include more visual appeal and graphics and a greater capability to showcase individual students and schools. The new design also allows district users to update and upgrade individual sites quicker and more efficiently.
Eventually, the district hopes for parents, students and community members to have an account and enable them to follow specific campuses, classes, events and calendars.
“Our main goal is to engage our parents, and provide technology that will support our teachers in their efforts to educate our students," Fred Brent, superintendent of schools, said in the release. "The new website will be key to taking our communication and parent involvement efforts to the next level.”
The website can be viewed on a desktop or smart phone by visiting alvinisd.net.
