28 Pearland participants complete Kiwanis Kids Triathlon
Twenty-eight participants from Pearland completed the Kiwanis Kids Triathlon on Saturday, June 30 in Pearland.
Kaytlynn Welsch, 12, of Alvin completed the race in 13:23.
The Deer Park participants were: Brianna Moore, 8, (14:30); Lauren Suarez, 9, (15:10); Julia Suarez, 12, (21:29); and Marley McRee, 10, (25:48).
The 20 Pearland runners who completed the race were: Christopher Loubiere, 8, (11:29); Caleb Mendez, 9, (11:57); James Laase, 9, (12:34); Robert Phillips, 9, (13:28); Emma Quinton, 9, (13:31); Patricia Weispfennig, 9, (13:37); Hayden Worrell, 7, (14:03); Savannah Worrell, 9, (14:18); Garrett Worrell, 11, (14:52); Christian Weispfennig, 11, (15:22); Robert Culley, 9, (15:37); Grace Laase, 7, (16:00); Caroline Phillips, 7, (16:15); Ariel Perry, 9, (16:38); Noah Melancon, 11, (18:28); Joseph Achar, 10, (18:59); Abigail Gibson, 7, (19:44); Blake Helderman, 10, (22:18); Armaan Chokshi, 12, (22:24); Jacob Jorgensen, 10, (23:12); Matthew Loubiere, 10, (24:48); Henna Mehmood, 11, (26:44); and Farah Chokshi, 11, (30:42).
A total of 120 participants completed the race. The race was for boys and girls born between 2003 to 2005 and included a 50-meter swim, a one-mile bike ride, and a ¼-mile run.. For kids born from 2000 to 2002, the course comprised of a 100-meter swim, two-mile bike ride, and a ½-mile run.
Kaytlynn Welsch of Alvin was the overall winner for the kids born in 2000 to 2002 with a time of 13:23, while Olivia Howard of Houston was the overall winner for the participants born in 2003 to 2005 with a time of 8:57.
