Dixie Farm Road overpass at IH 45/Gulf Freeway to close July 20
The Texas Department of Transportation will close the FM 1959/Dixie Farm Road overpass at Interstate Highway 45/Gulf Freeway at 9 p.m. on Friday, July 20.
The area will remain closed through October for reconstruction.
After the overpass is demolished, a new ground-level intersection will be constructed.
The IH 45/Gulf Freeway main lanes will pass over the FM 1959/Dixie Farm Road intersection, replacing the overpass and improving mobility and safety for motorists.
During the project, motorists traveling east on Dixie Farm Road to IH 45 will be detoured onto the southbound frontage road to FM 2351, back to FM 1959.
Motorists traveling west on FM 1959 to IH 45 will be detoured onto the northbound frontage road to Scarsdale Avenue, back to Dixie Farm Road.
