Eight Pearland runners compete in Firecracker 4 road race

Eight Pearland runners completed the Firecracker 4 in Lake Jackson on July 4.

The runners from Alvin who participated in the race are: Kaytlynn Welsch, (27:49); Heather Welsch, (28:28); Tara Dennis, (39:15); Sabrina Schaffer, (42:43); and Larry Burrow, (43:44).

The Pearland runners who crossed the finish line are: Sharon Lopez, (50:28); Allison Jasso, (52:50); and Bernie Lopez, (54:56).

A total of 230 runners finished the 4-mile race, which started in Dunbar Park-Pavilion, and passed along the neighborhoods of Lake Jackson and the Oyster Creek.

Xavier Jimenez, of Lake Jackson, was the men’s overall winner with a time of 21:22, while Lauren Smith was the women’s winner in 22:45.
