Sam Jamison Middle School celebrates 30 years of excellence
Sam Jamison Middle School of Pearland recently marked three decades as a school offering excellence in education.
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Sam Jamison hosted a celebration in May to honor first principal Robert Richter and other original staff members of the school.
Mayor Tom Reid presented Richter with a proclamation to recognize his service to the campus and the Pearland Independent School District.
Richter opened the school in 1982 and was its leader until 2000. He served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal and assistant superintendent in the district for 35 years before his retirement.
The campus recently earned the Anti-Defamation League’s No Place for Hate designation for the fourth consecutive year.
Sam Jamison Middle School serves students in grades 5-6 and is located at 1928 N. Main, in Pearland.
