Community invited to sign up for emergency alerts
Community members and businesses may sign up to be included in the new emergency alert system.
Pearland will institute a new Citizen Alert System in order to notify residents of emergencies in the area, such as dangerous weather, fires, environmental factors and floods. Additionally, citizens may choose to have City Council items sent to them as alerts.
According to the press release, Ronald Garcia, emergency management coordinator, said, “We have a commitment to our residents to protect them from any danger that threatens our community. The ability to reach all residents quickly during an emergency to warn them and provide guidance is critical to upholding that commitment.”
