United Way offering free tax filing at various sites in Pearland

United Way of Brazoria County is teaming up with the IRS to offer free tax preparation services through April 13.

Services are available from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Alvin Senior Center, 309 W. Sealy St.; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Adult Reading Center, 2246 Washington St. in Pearland; and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at First State Bank, 200 N. Brazosport Blvd. in Clute.

The income tax preparation program provides free tax assistance to low- and moderate-income ($50,000 and below) individuals. Volunteers receive free training to help prepare basic tax returns. Locations also offer free electronic filing.
