Pearland ISD students compete in FFA competitions

Pearland ISD Future Farmers of America earned first place overall and other top awards at the District 6 Leadership Development Event Competition on Nov. 9 and the Brazoria County Fair in October.
At the LDE event students competed in public speaking, decision making, communication and knowledge of agriculture. The students from Pearland won the following awards:
First place overall, FFA chapter
First place, senior chapter, conducting
First place, senior creed, speaking
Second place, agricultural issues forum
Second place, public relations
Second place, junior chapter, conducting
Third place, junior skills
At the county fair the team took home top awards, including:
Grand champion, junior market turkey
Grand champion and first place, junior market swine
Reserve grand champion, junior market goat
Reserve grand champion, British, junior market steer
First place, junior commercial heifer
Grand champion, reserve grand champion and first place, junior breeding heifer.
