HS Football: Willowridge falls to Manvel

Manvel defeated Willowridge in high school football action Friday in Hall Stadium.

Manvel, 1-0, won the game easily, 62-6.

Running back Richard Rose ran the ball 12 times for 61 yards and touchdown runs of one, one, and four yards.

Quarterback Shane McCarley threw for 112-yards and an 11-yard touchdown pass to Corey Seymour. McCarley also ran for a five-yard touchdown.

Tavares Garner returned a fumble 87 yards to score.

Manvel will visit Austin at 7 p.m. on Friday in Mercer Stadium.

The Eagles, 0-1, did get a 58-yard touchdown run from Darrin Reddick in the loss.

Willowridge lost four fumbles, was out gained 412-yards to 130 and only passed for 16 yards Friday.

The Eagles will regroup and visit Mayde Creek, 1-0, at 6 p.m. on Saturday in Rhodes Stadium.
