HS girls basketball: Pearland falls to Clear Lake

Clear Lake toppled Pearland 54-43 in District 24-5A high school girls basketball action on Friday.

Pearland fell behind 18-2 in the first quarter and made the game as close as seven, but couldn’t overcome the hole. 

The win ups Clear Lake to 17-4 on the season and 10-1 in district play.

Alex Kochner and Victoria Sutherland both scored 14 points in the victory.

Clear Lake will next host Alvin on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The loss drops Pearland to 17-11 on the season and 4-7 in district play. 

Kiara Freeman and Taylor Haynes both contributed 11 points in the loss.

Pearland will next visit Dickinson on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
